Meet The Team

Principal Dentist

Dr. Meredith Pokarier

Dr Pokarier graduated in 1987 with an honours degree from the University of Queensland. She began her care for people’s oral health at a dental practice in rural NSW (but she always cheered for the Maroons despite the protests). Her work continued in Brisbane, London, and rural Queensland. In 1996, she joined the Capalaba Dental Surgery and enjoyed working here at the Redlands ever since.

Dentistry has had many changes, new techniques and fads over the years. Dr Pokarier likes to keep up with the latest developments but always with a critical eye. Technology and gimmicks aside, she still think the best thing a dentist can offer is having a calm, gentle manner and providing quality care. Although Dr Pokarier is not a specialist in any particular field, she sees herself as a family dentist who understands that we all have a budget.

Outside of teeth, Meredith has spent many years sailing at RQYS and on the Brisbane River. She is an animal lover and has one crazy but wonderful English Cocker Spaniel who you will no doubt hear about when you pop in. Meredith loves archaeology and the ancient world as well as natural history. Bit of a nerd too. Dentistry is the one place in life where she gets to be fussy and make all the pieces fit.

Dr Pokarier looks forward to seeing you and those you hold dear. Her message for everyone is to floss, brush and watch out of the hidden acids and sugars!
